The 8-Week Mindfulness for Life Online Course will run on Monday evenings from 7:30-9:00pm starting on 16th January 2023. Developed by the University of Oxford, this important course has been shown to improve sleep and relationships and to reduce pain, fatigue, anxiety, stress and depression. Research shows we need to be exercising our brains as well as our bodies to stay healthy and it takes as little as 12 minutes of mindfulness a day to achieve this. Once you’ve learned mindfulness and developed a regular practice, you will notice that life feels more enjoyable and you feel calmer and more in control, even when difficulty arises. Mindfulness is an essential skill for life.
In each online session, there is a 30 minute mindfulness practice, interactive teaching of a new mindfulness concept and discussions around the challenges and experiences in developing your mindfulness skills. Practises include Mindful Eating, Mindful Walking, Mindful Movement, Mindful Awareness of Breath, the Body Scan and others. There is a maximum of 15 people in the online course.
